Big Bend + Santa Elena Elopement
Big Bend and Santa Elena Canyon were magical spots for my elopement couple to promise their lives to each other. We played in the water and ended up also playing in the rain under a rainbow which honestly, I still have goosebumps over.

How did you two meet? At the time, I was invited to hang out with a friend and her b/f and was told I’d be three-wheeling it. All though I contemplated going, I convinced myself it would be a relaxing night and I wouldn’t really have to make an effort to get ready. SOLD! He was also under the same impression (also the selling point for him), which is why he showed up in attire from a long days work! Crazy to say it now but we didn’t initially hit it off either! I was being reserved and I wasn’t giving it a fair chance. It wasn’t until he stepped outside and I thought to myself, “why not follow?”. We got to talking and my interest was peaked the minute I find out we both had a slight obsession with Missy Elliott’s music, The Office AND whataburger! The rest was history! 🙂
What was your most favorite memory from the amazing wedding day?
We both agree that there was a moment of what felt like a scene straight from a movie from the location Brittney picked. We stopped to explore one of the higher peaks in Big Bend National Park and it started to rain! I mean, just imagine this – BREATHTAKING views, refreshing rain after a long day out in the sun, then just when we couldn’t believe things could get any more perfect…IT DID! We saw a DOUBLE rainbow. That is something neither my husband and I have ever seen. It was THE highlight of our day. Not only was it refreshing and an AMAZING photo op, but they say it’s good luck to get some rain on your wedding day and for something like that spontaneously happen was amazing! MINDS.LITERALLY. BLOWN. We really believe it was our fathers giving us their blessings in that perfect moment.
Enjoy our Texas Adventure Elopement from one of our favorite locations to elope in Texas. I introduce to you the Big Bend + Santa Elena Wedding that got rained on. I get asked all the time when my clients book certain locations that can produce some hefty weather and my exact words are “well, then it rains.” This is a prime example of how amazing rain can be and not be scared of weather on your wedding day. That’s what makes it so unique and fun!
